"The Drink of Love"

Most objects used in my paintings I collect through the years. The one thing that really took me a long time and lots of visits to antiques shops was the wine glass depicted here. I wanted that very special roundness at the bottom of the glass, not the conventional oval type. I enjoyed very much juxtaposing the variety of textures, i,e. Fabric caressing the cracked wall, the glittering of silver encasing the delicacy of grapes  and the suave aroma of the fig and apple.
