This beautiful painting was created for a very nice couple, the husband's grand father used to play the violin and once the violin was heirloomed to this grand child (husband), it remaind in the family for years. After a period of time, it was decided to have a painting made of such an important heirloom and I was commissioned to come up with an idea to reflect: good old memories, love, peace, harmony and the unavoidable traces of time.
I wanted to emphazise this by adding the old candle holder, very used books and jewellery box. The fruits and wine complemented the family unity. Notice the blown out candle and the freshly opened pomegranate depicting the violinist have gone to rest...
